According to Naitoh et al. (2013), "(TTTTC)1 (TTTTA)1 (TTTTC)8 repeat structure" was found in y hg C3 Japanese men. Note that all of these men would be associated with wide-spread "DYS438-10" in Y-STR supplementary tables. (So maybe it's DYS438-1+1+8=10?) This specific repeat structure was found in Han(?) Chinese men by Hou Yiping et al. (2001), Naitoh et al. write. See p. 150 of Hou's paper for them referring to this repeat structure. On p. 147 of their paper Hou et al. write that they examined 81 Han males and 1 Zang male. Please no fast conclusions. That repeat structure could be very wide-spread even though the authors refer to it as if it was rather special. Chinese and Korean samples will have to be tested for what Naitoh et al. call "002613-27" and "IMS-JST002613", the SNP(?) marker associated with Japanese men in y hg C3 who have the "(TTTTC)1 (TTTTA)1 (TTTTC)8 repeat structure". |
