Addendum:

- figure 1 indicates a Mongolic origin of the one Tungusic (Baikal Evenk?) M407 carrier.
- figure 2 indicates one Mongolic cluster and at least two Mongolic clusters of M77 carriers. The Turkic-speakers share 4 haplotypes with Mongolic-speakers. Maybe more samples and more STR values would allow to distinguish between "originally Turkic" and "originally Mongolic" haplotypes. Note though that M77 is by far more common in Turkic-speakers and Oirats but less common to absent in more eastern Mongolic populations. So it could turn out to be "originally Turkic" at all. (Don't take this "originally" too seriously. I'm anyway primarily interested in metal age and later assimilation processes.)

Particularly common in...
- Khamnigans
- Soyots
- Buryats
(all relatively close to Lake Baikal)

abundantly M48+ according to Lell and M77- according to Malyarchuk:
- Koryaks

M48+ no downstream markers being tested especially in...
Katoh:
- Uriangkhai Oirats
- Zakhchin
Lell:
- Nivkh
- Itelmen
- Udeghe: M48/M130: 12/12=100%
- Negidal (? because of sample size)
- "Ulchi/Nanai": M48/M130: 19/29=65,5%

abundantly (M48+/)M77+ (combination):
- Kazakhs
- Kalmyks
- Evenks
- Evens

abundantly M217+/(M48+/)M86+ combination:
Hammer:
- Oroqen

Manchus:
- M86/M130: 8/17=47,1% (Katoh)
- Heilongjiang, M48/M217*: 3/11=27,3%; M407: 0% (Zhong Hua)
- Liaoning?: M86/M217: 0/14=0% (Hammer)
- Liaoning, M48/M217: 1/25=4%: M407: 5/25=20% (Zhong Hua)
- Xinjiang Xibe, M48/M217: 2/11=9,1% (Xue)

Furthermore, there are North Asian populations which have these markers at low frequencies (e.g. Yakuts). They often both occurs in the same population (e.g. Yakuts, Kalmyks).

New M407 data from Malyarchuk et al. 2010: Phylogeography of the Y-chromosome haplogroup C in northern Eurasia

It's noteworthy that among the Manchus M48/M217 ratio ends up below 0,5, while it seems to be above 0,5 among their traditional northern neighbours (Nanai and Udeghe). The Hezhe (5/10=0,5%) and Chinese Evenks (7/14=50%) according to Xue et al. See http://s6.zetaboards.com/man/topic/8602049/1 for more on the latter...
