According to Ago Künnap, only 36% of the Selkup mtDNA to which Villems 2002 referred are "from Asia". However, these "Asian" lineages appear to have higher diversities appear to have higher diversities than their non-"Asian" lineages. Unfortunately, Künnap doesn't mention any concrete lineages, though. And, similarly, Tambets et al. 2004 only indicate that none of their 120 Selkup samples belongs to any mtDNA hg present in their Saami sample. Further, Dryomov et al. 2015 mention one Selkup sample in mtDNA hg A which could be atypical.
